Rules of admission, membership withdrawal and expulsion

How to become a Member?


  1. Get well acquainted with the association’s activities on the website: stlukegroup.lv, on the FB profile: SaintLukeGroup and in person at Saint Luke’s Open House on Bārddziņu street 2, Riga;
  2. Read and understand the Articles of Association, which are available on the website: stlukegroup.lv/par-mums (in Latvian);
  3. Write the application in free form, mentioning your name and surname and expressing your desire to become a member, add your contact details (e-mail, phone number) and address it to the Board;
  4. The hard copy has to be delivered to St. Luke’s Open House at Bārddziņu Street 2, Riga. Electronically signed application to be mailed to society@stlukegroup.lv;
  5. Response time to the application is 2 (two) weeks

Any individual or any legal entity with legal capacity or any partnership with legal capacity may join the Association by submitting a written application in a specified form. The application form and the list of documents that may be attached to it are determined by the Board of the Association.

The decision on the admission of a member to the Association shall be made by the Board. The Board shall consider the applicant’s request at the nearest meeting, but no later than two weeks from the moment of receipt of all necessary documents. The applicant himself shall be invited to the meeting of the Board, at which the applicant’s request is considered, and he/she shall be given the opportunity to express his/her opinion. The applicant’s failure to appear shall not be an obstacle to the Board’s decision. The Board shall notify the applicant of the motivated decision in writing within a week from the moment of its adoption.

The applicant may appeal the decision of the rejection in written form addressed to the General Meeting of Members. If the General Meeting of Members rejects the applicant’s request, the applicant shall not be admitted as a member of the Association. However, he/she is allowed to submit a new application not sooner than after the expiration of a one-year term. A member may withdraw himself/herself from the Association at any time by notifying the Board in writing.

A member may be expelled from the Association by decision of the Board if:

    • The member has not paid the membership fee for more than 12 months;
    • The member does not comply with the decisions of the General Meeting and the Board;
    • The member does not fulfill his duties and obligations;
    • The member violates the requirements of the Association’s statutes;
    • The member’s behavior or expression contradicts or harms the achievement of the Association goals.

The Board shall consider the case of member’s expulsion during the next meeting, inviting the member to be expelled and giving him the floor to express his opinion. The absence of the member to be expelled shall not be an obstacle to the adoption of the Board’s decision. The Board shall notify the member of the decision of expulsion and the motivation for this decision in writing within 5 (five) days from the date of its adoption.
