MAIN GOALS AND OBJECTIVES

Inclusion and social adaptation

Through the creation of jobs, we want to offer people at risk of social exclusion the opportunity to participate in different workshops to develop skills, share experiences, and make new friends. This will enhance their integration into society and prevent or overcome risks of social isolation

Leverage of skills and self-esteem

Using training and creative activities in the workshop, participants will develop appropriate competencies that will promote their reinclusion into labor market and self-confidence in their abilities

Platform for dialogue and interaction

We want the workshops to become safe place where people of different social status, age, and cultural groups can freely meet, communicate, and support each other

Social entrepreneurship

As the workshops develop, social enterprises could be created, which would set long-term support for the target group

Riga City Neighborhoods Project “Providing Support for the Integration of Ukrainian Civilians” (2023, contract no. RAIC-23-12-li), friendship fairs were organized once a month. War-affected Ukrainian residents and other participants were provided with the opportunity to participate in handicrafts and artisan fairs free of charge and to attend consultations with a psychologist, social worker, theologian, career specialist, as well as other professionals in the field. They were given the opportunity to participate in master classes in ceramics and other creative workshops, lectures, and discussions on the history, traditions, and culture of Latvia, as well as to take part in many other activities.

Riga City Social Integration Program. The project “Discussions at St. Luke’s(2022, contract no. AIC-22-64-lī). Various forms of discussions are held about the current situation in the world and in Latvia under the influence of the war in Ukraine. Response to the disinformation sponsored and spread by the Russian state. The consolidation of the Latvian information landscape, basing on qualitative information sources and facts. Helping the only Russian-speaking population of Latvia find their identity consistent with the common political nation of Latvia. In the future, it is planned to apply the discussion materials to other current events that are important to the target group of the association and are essential for Latvian society and the national economy. JSC “Latvijas valsts meži” grant for career growth and inclusion of socially vulnerable groups in the labor market, 2021, contract no. 7.5/LVM/21/82.

Grant program of the Riga City Council Department of Education, Culture and Sports. The project on the creation of a prototype of a community theater, 2021, contract no. DIKS-21-109-nd.

US Embassy’s Small Grants Program. The project on the social inclusion of vulnerable groups in society “3 Stories of People Among Us”, 2018, contract no. SLG75018GR0020.

Riga City Council Welfare Department Social Entrepreneurship Grant for the creation of 2 jobs for representatives of the association’s target group, 2018, contract no. DL-18-180-lī. A co-creation space and 2 jobs for representatives of the target group were created.

US Embassy’s Small Grants Program. The project on the social inclusion of vulnerable groups in society “Training with power tools in a practical work environment”, 2017, contract no. SLG75017GR048.

Riga City Council Welfare Department Social Entrepreneurship Grant for the creation of 2 jobs for representatives of the association’s target group, 2016, contract no. DL-16-258-lī. A woodworking workshop and 2 jobs for representatives of the target group were created.
